Suzanne Phillips Fawley, CHID, IDS, ASHE
With over 25 years of Contract and Healthcare Interior Design experience, Suzanne Phillips Fawley is a nationally Certified Healthcare Interior Designer (CHID), specializing in Healthcare and Behavioral Health Interior Design, product application, and furniture product design.

Suzanne’s collaborations with Stance Healthcare have contributed several years of major industry
award wins for the company’s innovative products, beginning in 2017, when Suzanne partnered with Stance Healthcare and Forbo Industries to design the HCD Nightingale Gold Award-winning Resilia Table Collection for Behavioral Health. The following year, Suzanne designed Stance
Healthcare’s show space at Neocon, earning IIDA and Contract Magazine’s 2018 Best of Neocon Award for Large Show Space. In 2019, the craftsman-style, rotationally-molded Frontier Collection for Behavioral Health she co-designed with Stance Healthcare’s engineering team won another HCD Nightingale Gold award. And, in 2021, the Flo Dining Collection for Behavioral Health she co-designed with Stance Healthcare’s engineering team won another HCD Nightingale Gold award. Suzanne was also featured on the popular Healthcare Design 2.0 podcast in late 2019, where she shared insights about her background and signature approach to healthcare design and product
development.

Suzanne is the creator and facilitator of a highly regarded, IDCEC-approved CEU, Behavioral Health Design: Learning from the Past to Design for the Future, which enjoyed several consecutive weeks in 2021 as the #1 attended IDCEC CEU course, and continues to be attended in high demand in 2022.

Suzanne began her design career as Interior Design Project Manager, Senior Interior Designer and Director of Interior Design for prominent NC architecture, construction, and interior design firms. She holds a BSBA in Education and Interior Design from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Salem College in Winston- Salem, NC, and has completed post-graduate work in the unique practice of Experiential Design at the New School in New York.

In addition to her work with Stance Healthcare, Suzanne was a member of the originating team responsible for developing and launching the healthcare company Nurture, present-day Steelcase Health. Today she continues practicing Experiential Design in consultation with Healthcare and contract clients who understand the power of the user experience.
